Pounds per acre from a stand goal, seed count, germination, and purity. Not a fertilizer-units clone.

Formula

PLS fraction = (germination % / 100) × (purity % / 100)
lb/acre = desired plants per acre / (seeds per lb × PLS)

Example: 150,000 plants/ac, 3,000 seeds/lb, 90% germ, 98% purity
  PLS = 0.882
  rate = 150000 / (3000 × 0.882) = 56.7 lb/ac

If your goal is plants/ft², plants/ac = plants/ft² × 43,560.
